Weekend in which the last day of April meets the first of May, the VOD platforms end and at the same time start a new month this weekend, and we review the premieres that we can see this weekend that is also a bridge in some communities.
Netflix brings among others Ozark, season 4: A financial adviser drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder $500 million over five years to appease a drug kingpin. Also Spanish comedy Mother’s Love: Comedy of a crazy honeymoon in which the groom does not travel with his wife, but with his mother after leaving him standing at the altar.
Movistar+ arrives with the blockbuster Venom: There Will Be Carnage: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson meet again in this second installment of the ‘Spider-Man’ spin off about journalist Eddie Brock and his Venom symbiote. The film opens in 1996, at St. Estes Reformatory, California, where the only light in young Cletus Kasady’s life is Frances, whose dangerous powers cause her to soon be transferred.
And it also brings us France, film in which Bruno Dumont directs Léa Seydoux in this scathing satire on the world of television journalism that hides much more than what is shown at first sight. As Fabien Lemercier at Cineuropa says about this dramatic comedy: “a ruthless Bruno Dumont puts his magnifying glass on ambition and on becoming aware of the annoying truth of the state of a country and its souls”.
Besides, Amazon Prime Video brings the premiere of Claricea series based on one of the two main characters of the mythical Silence of the Lambs: set one year after the plot of her first meeting with Hannibal Lecter -and before meeting again in the film Hannibal-, FBI agent Clarice returns to work after closing the case of the killer Buffalo Bill.

Splendor and Fall: The Garlic Phantoms
Fest by M+ (dial 37). Edu Molina and Alacrán Fajardo form The Garlic Phantoms, the band that revolutionized the national rock scene with a single song in their repertoire. Nobody had heard of them until they released their only single with which they achieved massive recognition. They went from nothing to playing at the most important festivals in the country, starring on the covers of the most relevant music media, constantly playing on the radio and giving a concert at the WiZink Center in front of 17,000 people. Artists like M Clan, Coque Malla or Luz Casal, Edu and Alacrán themselves, and influential people from the music sector talk about the rise and fall of this group in a stupendous ‘mockumentary’.
