Sony Pictures has released a new international trailer of Ghostbusters: Beyond, and shows the return of an iconic monster from the franchise
Sony Pictures has released a new international trailer for Ghostbusters: Beyond, and although it shows some scenes from previous promotions, this preview shows a lot of new images from the third film in the franchise (the previous one was a reboot).
When the review embargo was lifted last week, many critics agreed how Ghostbusters: Beyond strip of nostalgia openly revealing itself as a worthy sequel to the Ivan Reitman films. And it seems that in this new trailer the marketing folks at Sony have taken notice by revealing the return of the iconic monsters from the first movie.
In particular we can see keeper of the keys, Vinz Clortho and the gatekeeper, Zuul, or perhaps just one of them, these creatures are a kind of watchdog serving Gozer, an ancient and monstrous ultra-powerful deity worshiped by the Hittites, Mesopotamians, and Sumerians around 6000 BC who was returning to New York City to prepare the destruction of the world. We will have to wait to see if the great villain of that movie will also come into action in this one and the trailer does not say anything about whether they are Vinz Clortho or Zuul, and it may be a creature of this race of monsters.
We can also hear an updated version of the classic theme while our young heroes chase ghosts on Ecto-1, there are several mentions of Egon (the late Harold Ramis).
