Sitges 20211: El Páramo: Netflix released its trailer and release date

After so much waiting, Netflix finally released very important details about El Páramo. This film will be David Casademunt’s debut feature. The film will be presented next October 11 within the official competition section of the 54th Sitges Film Festival which starts today. The film will premiere worldwide in the service on January 26, 2022. Regarding its cast, it will be headed by important and well-known figures such as Inma Cuesta (The disorder you leave), Roberto Álamo (The skin I live in) and Asier Flowers (Pain and Glory).

What is known about the film

The filming of El páramo began at the beginning of February in an impressive moor in the province of Teruel. The location is “A fundamental element to enter history”, Its producers Joaquín Padró, Mar Targarona and Marina Padró stand out, who convey their enthusiasm for working again with new talents such as newcomer David Casademunt and co-scriptwriters Fran Menchón and Martí Lucas, and “in the genre that we like the most: the terror”. Produced by Rodar y Rodar, the film was part of the first edition of ECAM’s La Incubadora.

Regarding its synopsis, Netflix released very few details. “The quiet life of a family that lives isolated from society is disturbed by a terrifying creature that will test the ties that bind them,” he explains in the statement. As for its direction, as we highlighted previously, it will be in charge of David Casademunt, who graduated in the specialty of direction at Escac. His works total more than 70 awards.
