‘My fans are the best’: Britney Spears thanks #FreeBritney movement

She says “not having the words”. So it was with yet another video, staring at the camera, that she chose to address those who, for years, have been fighting for her. Britney Spears officially thanked the #FreeBritney movement without which her daily life would not have been so publicized.

“Thanks to you and your constant resilience to free me from my tutelage, my life is now taking this direction”, she wrote on Instagram, this Tuesday, October 5, a week after a major twist in this file.

Next step: marriage

At the hearing on September 29, a Los Angeles court stripped Britney Spears’ father of the role of guardian he had held for 13 years. Jamie Spears, who until then managed the private life and finances of her younger sister, was forced to hand over to professionals, to the delight of the singer, who had qualified her tutelage “d’abusive”. “I cried for two hours yesterday because my fans are the best and I know it”, she continues on Instagram for those who have never given up.

Launched on the Internet in 2009, the #FreeBritney movement has grown over the past two years, and has even resulted in the production of three uplifting documentaries on the tutelage of Britney Spears. The latest, Britney vs Spears, was produced by Netflix and says that the artist tried twice to hire his own lawyer as soon as the measure was put in place, but failed to do so.

It was not until last July that she was able to secure the services of her own representative. Matthew Rosengart, who counts Hollywood big names like Ben Affleck among his clients, has kept his promise to take action “aggressive and fast”.

In three months, the lawyer did more for Britney Spears than her predecessor in 13 years. He also called for an investigation into the management of Jamie Spears, whom he accused in particular of extortion. The end of the paternal guardianship will be formally ratified on November 12th. Until then, Britney Spears has only one concern, which she shares with her admirers: finding the perfect place to marry her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, to whom she is finally engaged.
