Covid-19: a majority of employees want to adopt the health pass and abandon the mask in business

At the office, but without a mask. This is the dream that seems to be cherishing a majority of employees at a time when the epidemic situation is improving day by day, with in particular more than 70% of the population fully vaccinated. According to a survey carried out by Ipsos-Sopra Steria, the proportion of workers no longer wishing to cover their face in their workplace would thus reach 74%.

In more detail, they would be 80% of executives, 79% of workers and 69% of employees to want to put an end to this measure when 8% of respondents say they are “totally opposed” and 18% “rather opposed” to lift the obligation to wear the mask indoors, reveals this survey carried out among 1,118 people from September 28 to 30 for the Parisian-Today in France.

A majority of respondents for the corporate health pass

Aspiring to finally turn the page on the health crisis, after a year and a half of health protocols and imposed barrier gestures, 67% of people surveyed even say they are in favor of the generalization of the health pass in companies, which for the time being is not as a mandatory reminder only for employees in contact with the public. Among them, 38% say they are “absolutely” favorable and 29% “rather favorable”.

What reasoning behind this figure? “We are in line with what Emmanuel Macron said last July: it is not for the vaccinated to endure the constraints created by those who oppose it”, Brice Teinturier, Managing Director of Ipsos France, analyzes the daily. But the establishment of such a device remains considered illegal and punishable by one year in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.

“The companies were there”

“Fear has declined considerably since the start of the pandemic, and the more it decreases, the more weariness sets in with regard to a number of restrictions,” further sums up the director. Evidenced by: “80% of the active people questioned say they are reassured when they go to the workplace”, when only 4% of them would be “very worried” for their health.

Finally, for 93% of those questioned, the management did its best to preserve the activity and 83% consider that it has protected the workers, details this survey which concludes that “the companies were there”.
