Eric Zemmour denies having told his editor Albin Michel that he would be a candidate for the 2022 presidential election

It is a decision which will reinforce the rumor of a candidacy of Eric Zemmour in 2022. In a press release published Tuesday afternoon, the publishing house Albin Michel indicates to have broken with the polemicist, because he “wants to become a politician” and told him his “intention to engage in the presidential election”. Words quickly denied by the person concerned.

Albin Michel had published five works by the columnist of CNews, including Land French Suicide in 2014, great bookstore success. Corn “Albin Michel editions will not publish the next book” of this author, they explained in a press release.

Eric Zemmour has decided to change his status, he wants to become a politician, engaged in a personal ideological fight– Gilles Haéri, president of Albin Michel editions

“We had a very frank exchange with Éric Zemmour, who recently confirmed to me his intention to enter the presidential election and to make his next book a key element of his candidacy”, said the president of the publishing house, Gilles Haéri. “Eric Zemmour has decided to change his status, he wants to become a politician, engaged in a personal ideological fight, which simply does not correspond to the editorial line of a large generalist house like Albin Michel.”

The polemicist had protested against this decision on the antenna of CNews Monday, judging it unjustified. He specified that the book in question was “almost finished” for release in September.
