40 years later, ABBA returns with a new album, a show and funny digital doubles

It is perhaps the most surreal comeback in the history of music. The most sophisticated in any case. Thirty-nine years after their separation, the four members of the Swedish group ABBA return with a new album of 22 unreleased songs called Voyage and a show like no other.

For the purposes of this show entitled “ABBA Voyage”, which will be played in London from May 2022, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 75, Agnetha Fältskog, 71, Björn Ulvaeus, 76, and Benny Andersson, 74, were filmed in the studio with the technology of motion capture, used on films like Avatar and The Lord of the Rings.

The four singers had met at the end of the 1960s and had achieved worldwide success after their triumph at Eurovision 1974 with their first hit “Waterloo”.

And who will no doubt be delighted to discover all the band’s hits live , even with digital doubles …
