Novak Djokovic admits he skipped the lockdown after testing positive for covid

Djokovic confirmed that it is true, claiming that he did not cancel that commitment because he “did not want to defraud” anyone, although he admits that it was an “error of judgment”.

“I attended a basketball game in Belgrade on December 14, after which it was reported that several people had tested positive for Covid-19. Despite having no symptoms, on December 16 I underwent a test antigen test which came back negative and as a precaution I also had a PCR that same day. The next day I attended a tennis event in Belgrade to give prizes to the children and had a rapid antigen test before going, and it was also negative. I was asymptomatic and I felt fine, and I did not receive notification of the positive result of the PCR test until after that event, “he clarified.

He also highlighted that he respected the social distancing measures throughout the conversation he had with the aforementioned medium and he wore a mask at all times, which he only took off to pose for the camera.

“I want to emphasize that I have worked very hard to ensure everyone’s safety and to comply with testing obligations,” he stressed.
