Adèle Exarchopoulos, a new chance in America

After a false start, the French actress intends to realize her American dream.

After her consecration at the Cannes Film Festival in “La Vie d’Adèle” in 2013, it was only natural that Americans, blown away by her performance, wanted to work with the young French actress then aged 20. First Sean Penn in 2016 with “The Last Face”, then Ralph Fiennes with “Nureyev”. But Adèle did not break through to meet her expectations in the United States. Unlike France, where the actress shines as much in “Mandibles” by Quentin Dupieux as in “Bac Nord” by Cédric Jimenez, which has crossed the 2 million spectator mark. For her next project, the 27-year-old should reconnect with Hollywood. Adèle will be in the cast of “Passages” which began shooting in mid-November, under the direction of the American Ira Sachs, to whom we owe “Frankie” in 2019 with Isabelle Huppert. The story of a couple of men confronted with adultery when one of them has an affair with a woman, played by Adèle. A synopsis which is reminiscent of that of Abdellatif Kechiche’s film, for which she had won the Palme d’Or.
