Only Watch: For a good cause

On November 6 in Geneva, the Only Watch charity sale raised nearly 30 million euros for the benefit of the fight against muscular dystrophy, and in particular research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Orchestrated by Christie’s, Only Watch has established itself as the most prestigious charity auction in the world of watchmaking. About fifty unique timepieces, produced exclusively for the occasion by the greatest manufacturers, are auctioned off and are unleashed by the passion of collectors and other speculators. For this 9th edition, we are talking about 850 participants from 25 different countries. This is how this auction raised, after 3 hours 30 of suspense, surprise and joy, 30 million Swiss francs, 28.5 million euros, 32.1 million US dollars.

If since the first edition of Only Watch, 95 million euros have been collected, this year is a record vintage that has exceeded all expectations. And this, in particular with 5 timepieces which were sold for more than 1 million Swiss francs.
