Operating ChatGPT involves explaining facts instead of generating nonsensical content. The chatbot simply combines words based on probabilities, without comprehending the meaning behind its statements. Its inherent nature limits it to writing alone. Since the release of ChatGPT by OpenAI, there have been numerous requests for extensions from various sources. These extensions would allow ChatGPT to delegate certain tasks to services that provide more than just word statistics.
For instance, connecting the language bot to a computer algebra system like Wolfram Alpha would eliminate its recurring arithmetic weaknesses. Plug-ins would also expand the bot’s usage scenarios beyond writing texts. It would be great to request the bot to make a table reservation at your favorite restaurant, just like an assistant. OpenAI has already introduced plug-ins for its chatbot in March 2023, which cater to such use cases.
