An alleged conflict of interest for the Edgar County Board is impacting other jurisdictions.

Board chairman Chris Patrick disputes a position taken by the Illinois Department of Transportation that a potential conflict of interest exists for him to participate in discussions, votes or sign any contracts for projects utilizing IDOT or Federal Highway Administration funds because Patrick may have a financial interest in highway improvement through his company Zimmerly Ready Mix bidding to supply material for such projects.
