Best Dressed consignment shop now open in rural Paris
By DENISE CRAVENS

Vonnie Davis of rural Paris is providing a way for women to be the “best dressed” at the best price with her new consignment shop.
Davis opened “Best Dressed” in her home in March after a discouraging search for her own wedding dress. She was getting married in May and wanted a nice evening gown for the event, without having to pay $300 or more for it.
Davis had seen classified ads from time to time with people selling used prom and wedding dresses and decided to take a few dresses on consignment.
The dress owner and Davis together determine the price of the dress to be sold. As her business picks up, Davis plans to keep dresses for four months and if they do not sell, they will be returned to the owner.
Davis said is currently in collection-mode, but already has a variety of dresses to choose from.
She has everything from prom and May Fete dresses to wedding gowns and flower girls dresses. She also has a few options appropriate for mother-of-the-bride attire and evening gowns for cruises and other special events.
She will also accept accessories such as purses and shoes.
Many of the dresses have never been worn, and those that have she asks the honors have dry-cleaned before selling them.
All of the dresses are marked 50 percent or more off of the original sale price.
Davis shows the dresses by appointments only. Groups of girls can make an appointment to look at dresses together. Davis works during the day, but will accept evening and weekend appointments.
To make an appointment or to sell a dress, contact Davis at 217-946-4145 after 5 p.m.
